What inspired you to work in sexual medicine?
As an undergrad student, I joined Dr. Michael Adams lab for my honors research project. I thought I would have a hypertension project and I ended up working on hypertension related erectile dysfunction. I carried this work through to my PhD studies and attended SMSNA meetings annually. I became hooked on sexual medicine and have continued this research in my lab.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your career?
Mentoring and training the next generation of clinicians and scientists is what drive me. I hope to provide them a supportive environment and the guidance needed to help them succeed in their research careers.
What is something most people don’t know about you?
I'm an avid sourdough baker and my starter, Yeastmode, is almost old enough to drive.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Do the hard things that intimidate you. Don’t let insecurities stop you—growth comes from pushing through the challenges.
