In 2017. SMSNA partnered with the AUA, the eight AUA Sections, and the urologic community to support comments on the U.S. Preventative Services Task Force (USPSTF) draft recommendations. The USPSTF released its final recommendation statement on Screening for Prostate Cancer and recommended that men ages 55 to 69 make an individual decision about prostate cancer screening with their clinician and for men age 70 or older routine screening is not necessary.
